Why Domain Names Matter for SEO
Search engines analuyze various metrics in order to rank content on there search results, and one main metrics is the the domain name. Interestingly, Top-level domains (TLDs) like .com or .org have little or no direct impact on SEO rankings, they are used only for brand vale. However, the second-level domain, or the name you are using for your domain can have significant value, if it includes high traffic relevant keywords.

Not just niche site, they matters to all kinds of sites. Sure brandable domains work as well. .
