It's useful to know how to install apps on your hosting (forums, blogs etc.), but not needed in all cases, probably never in shared hosting.

I am more comfortable with one lick installs. Even though I know how to develop wordpress site locally and then upload on server, I like to install wordpress through one click and built the site live.

Me too. It's the same idea.

When I started using VPS, the cpanel I got did not have Softaculous so one click installation was not available to me. The wordpress management feature available to me on my server was difficult to use. I ended up subscribing to Softaculous.

I also agree that one clicks are awesome but however, manual installs are nice especially if you want custom settings.

Premium forum software has no one-click option.

I don't understand what you mean! Are you saying that premium forum software doesn't have one-click option? Of course, they do.

There is no software to make the installation as easy as it would be with free forum software.

I love having the option to one click install software on hosting. It has given me the option to check out other softwares from forum to blog software without being a professional in installing these options.

One-click installs saves time which is also free of the headaches of configuring things manually particularly when you just want to experiment.
