Blog Post and Link Exchanges

Link exchanges were done for my employment blogs, but this was back around 2011.Nomad wrote: Sat Jul 26, 2025 2:14 pm I have done them in the past but I haven't done it for a long time. Backlinks will work only when they come from a site that is in same niche and ranks higher than yours, link sharing on a random website no longer works

I’m hoping the backlinks from the same niche sites are still working, but Google has become much stricter about these things.

Hosting Chatter, as an example, has gotten moderate SEO power by linking to web development forums. But then again, it's easy to get those backlinks compared to others.bharath wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 4:25 am So how is the situation now? I haven’t done much in the last two years and have only been paying for my domain renewals. From here onwards, I’m planning to focus on my blogs as well.

They're not using PageRank but I still see it as a useful metric and the site also displays current ones like DA and TF.bharath wrote: Sun Feb 08, 2026 10:23 am I’m familiar with Check PageRank, but as far as I know, Google stopped using public PageRank a long time ago. I’m surprised to hear about it again from you. Are pages still ranked based on PageRank in any form today? Do you have any updated insight into the current ranking factors?

You’re absolutely right. I just tested my domains and found that one of the websites is having hosting issues. It’s clear that I need to migrate to a different hosting provider. The report also mentions the site’s Trust Flow, which is very important for all of us. I believe that metric is still being updated or recalculated.Jason wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 1:20 pmThey're not using PageRank but I still see it as a useful metric and the site also displays current ones like DA and TF.bharath wrote: Sun Feb 08, 2026 10:23 am I’m familiar with Check PageRank, but as far as I know, Google stopped using public PageRank a long time ago. I haven’t been using any metrics for the past three years, except for checking this PageRank about a week ago.
