Who has used a VPS?
I have, and it is fun. Only thing is, you need to spend some time handling it. You need to secure it and keep it that way.
You will have to buy things like cPanel, which can be a costly affair. It is not like managed hosting where you can buy and almost forget about it. Packages, package updates, upgrades, OS upgrades, there is a lot to do.

Used a VPS fo awhile. It was fun, but overkill for the traffic I had.

I used to have a VPS. I haven't had one in years though. It's more powerful than a shared server. It's the next step after a shared.
