How to cancel my web hosting service?

It's really not easy to cancel the hosting plan. I tried doing that once and the company just kept bouncing me around with “submit a ticket,” “wait 24 hours,” “confirm by email.” I almost gave up. To be fair, some of them just make it hard so you’ll stay and forget about canceling it. Has anyone here successfully canceled theirs without issues?

Just don't pay the bill :D

But with a contract, you can't really cancel it. Is that right?

What hosting service are you using. I am with name cheap, last time I had to cancel, it took just 2 minutes through live chat.

Not paying the bill could ruin a reputation, though. What if you wanted to return later?
