Do you know how to swim?

Some adults don't know how to swim, are you one that knows how to swim? When did you learn how to swim? I remember taking lessons when I was 9 years old, I know that seems like it's a bit too old for a child to learn how to swim since most children learn when they're infants. My sister also took lessons at the same time and she is two years younger than me. I wish we could have a above ground pool at my house but I live on top of a hill so there's really no good place to have one unfortunately.

Not to get too personal, but my body is scarred so I was shy to swim as a child and never learned.

Yes, I know how to swim. I learned how to swim when I was pretty young, and I was a trained lifeguard during my teenage years. I can swim pretty well.

Even though I stated that I never learned (due to fear of childhood bullying of my deformities and scars), I feel I should know how because I have a young son and it was be so shameful if he died because I couldn't save him.
